It’s amazing how much you can achieve with a healthy work ethic and a profitable idea. You get the feeling that you truly know where you are going in life and that nothing can stop you, not even your government that wants your money oh so badly.

When I started writing this article, I had multiple ways and ideas to write it. The one that first came to mind was telling the story of a victim and depicting how hard it is to be an entrepreneur in such hard environments. The truth is every obstacle is a blessing.

The surrounding

It is definitely possible to be an entrepreneur in every given environment, but of course, some places bring a higher level of difficulty. My government does not take kindly to up and coming businessmen. Starting your own business here is easy, but maintaining it through the constant pressure is what’s hard.

Getting inspected and receiving fines for no reason is common because somebody’s got to pay for the ones that get overlooked and don’t get fined. The rule is simple, if you don’t support us, you are against us, and oh boy you don’t want an enemy like that. If you are going through this, you have two options, quit and blame the world for making your life so hard or thrive.

This is where you think outside the box, and see the opportunities you didn’t see before; this is where you separate yourself from the masses and become successful with the odds against you. If you start looking at what you have rather than what you don’t have, you will see that it’s a blessing in disguise.

“Opportunity often comes disguised in the form of misfortune, or temporary defeat.”  -Napoleon Hill

Online Entrepreneurship in underdeveloped country

This is where you should dominate if you come from a similar background. The thing with underdeveloped countries is that when you compare them with wealthy countries, everything is cheap, the food, the products, the services and even the workers. No, I’m not saying you should bring back slavery and underpay people for their hard work, but make it so that both parties are satisfied.

Your #1 Strength

E-commerce is where the money is if you come from a country as described. If you find the right products, you will be able to make a killing on Ebay. I have seen book stands and the book holds to go for $15, and I can buy the same ones from my local bazaar for $2. I have seen shirts go for $25, and I have printed the same for $4, published them on Amazon, and made a killing with the ads I pointed to it. After that, you repeat the process with another product. You can also buy/sell the handmade designs of local craftsmen and take your income to another level.

Don’t Compete, Dominate!

In one of the most recommended business books of all time, it is said that it’s better to dominate in your market than to compete. To find the product to do this you can’t get help from anyone other than yourself. You have to think this through and find the product that will set you apart from all the other sellers.

For example, on Ebay people are selling handcrafted axes for about $150, and I can buy a handmade head of an axe for 700 denars, which is about $13. After that, I get a handle from a carpenter and craft those two things together. The result is $120 of profit. Rare crafts or products that can be found in your local area for cheap is a great place to start, or you can do your research and see what the customer wants.

Follow the Trend

google-trends

Here are some things you can try out if you want to be able to find the most profitable product. The first thing you can do is go to Ebay or Amazon and look at what people are buying and selling. If a product is selling well at $40 and you can buy the same one for $20 from your country, then you just sell it for a lower price.

People will start to see the sales as well as your reviews, and you will be able to acquire more customers. Your customers will be happy because they are getting what they want for a lower price, and you will be happy because you just generated a new revenue stream. Another thing you can try is following Google trends. Just Google “trends” and you will get a nice tool that will show you the most searched keywords at the moment. Let’s say that the trendiest thing right now is the NBA Finals. If you know how to use Photoshop (If you don’t just learn it, it’s easy) you can try making a T-Shirt. Make your own design and try out at first with RedBubble or TeeSpring.

If your design happens to sell, start printing it out for a low price, and sell it on Ebay/Amazon. To add wood to the fire, start pointing ads to your design. The more ideas you put into action, and the more methods you try you will start feeling as if you have an advantage (which you do). I myself feel thankful for being born in my imperfect country, I hope with time you feel the same way.

With this article I want to inspire and motivate you, I want you to keep pushing and striving towards your dream no matter who tries to hold you back. I hope this article has given you a better perspective on your current affairs, and given you new profitable ideas to gain more revenue. I wish you good luck in your journey, and remember that you are not in this alone.
